Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what PocketStage ("we," "us," or "our") collects, what we deliberately do not store, and how live audio and captions are processed to provide the Service.

What we collect

• Account email. Speakers and organizers sign in with a magic-link, so we store the email address tied to your account.
• Workspace and usage data. Organization, event, and session metadata, plus usage metering such as participant-minutes, used to operate the Service and apply plan limits.
• Minimal logs. Standard technical logs needed to run, secure, and debug the Service.

What we do not collect or store

We do not record or store the audio you broadcast. Live audio is ephemeral and exists only while it is being relayed. We do not save captions as transcripts. Captions are generated live and delivered as transient data to listeners, and are not persisted after the session. Listeners join anonymously and are not asked to create an account.

How live audio and captions are processed

To provide captions and translation, your live audio and the resulting caption text are processed by third-party services in real time, not stored. Specifically, the live audio stream is sent to Deepgram for speech-to-text, and the resulting caption text is sent to Google Cloud Translation to translate it into each listener's chosen language. This processing happens during the session as the audio flows, and the audio and captions are not retained by us as a result.

Subprocessors and third parties

We rely on the following third-party services to operate PocketStage. They process data on our behalf for the purposes described.

• Supabase

  Authentication and database hosting for accounts and workspaces.

• LiveKit

  Real-time transport of live audio between speakers and listeners.

• Deepgram

  Speech-to-text on the live audio stream to generate captions in real time.

• Google Cloud Translation

  Translating live caption text into each listener's chosen language.

• Resend

  Sending transactional and contact emails, including sign-in links.

• Vercel

  Hosting the web application.

• Fly.io

  Hosting the captioning agent that processes the live audio.

Cookies and sessions

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary to run the Service, primarily an authentication cookie that keeps you signed in after you use a magic-link. We do not use these cookies to track you across other websites.

Data retention

We keep account, workspace, and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Live audio and captions are not retained, as described above. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated data, except where we are required to keep some of it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us at hello@pocketstage.io and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where a higher age applies, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We and our subprocessors may process data in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
